This is gonna be a long post, and I don't want to upstage the Kaiji release, so I'll actually put the cut really early in this post to take up as little space as possible on the Home page.

Kazuya-Hen Chapter 11

It's been a while guys, and I know some of you are impatient for the next chapter of Kaiji. I understand your feelings, as I am as eager as you guys to read the latest chapter. I am part of FKMTkrazy after all. All I can say is that college is a place that sucks the time out of you. Whether it be studying for tests, catching up on reading, hanging out with friends, or going out to parties, there's always something to do. I really do apologize for the delay, but better late than never, right?

Thanks to the regular crew for keeping up the good work and providing this chapter for you guys. Js06 for the scripts, Biggums for the cleans, and of course Sonickrazy for his proofreading magic.

When we last left off, Sweet Prince Tatsuya had decided to use his dying breath in order to stab Arisa. Unsurprisingly, Arisa is very unhappy about this. She hurls insults at Tatsuya, but when has doing that ever been useful in any situation like this? As her next plan, she pleads with the Boss once again, hoping to win his favor. But the Boss is not so lenient this time around. He says that Arisa really shouldn't be too worried. After all, there is only a one in six chance that the sword will go through! Like rolling a one in a die toss! And what are the chances of that happening really? Well knowing Kazuya, of course it happens. A dead couple does not suit Kaiji's tastes so well, and so he yells at Kazuya for being so cruel. How could he create a book about such obscene acts?

It turns out it was because the story isn't fake, it's real.

Akagi Chapter 165

Right back to Volume 19 we go! When we last left Akagi, he had an awful hand that was closer to Kokushi than anything else, but even that was far away. Meanwhile, Washizu's hand was also a Kokushi hand, but of an entirely different caliber; it was remarkably close to winning from the very first draw, and seemed as if it could reach Tenpai in a matter of turns! How will Akagi combat this frightening turn of events?!

Thanks to Doc for the cleans, and to Kazuhiko for typesetting the chapter despite having his family watching a spanish soap opera in the background. Por que indeed. Mahjong Day will be Saturday at 22:00 GMT, 2:00 PM PST, as usual.

Also, there's been a bit of discomfort in the comments about our decision to move back to volume 19. I never intended to continue through to Volume 9 from the very moment I suggested we let Doc practice on Volume 8, it was always my intention to move back to volume 19 and continue the story that way. The only reason we'd be going back to 9 is to train another cleaner since they are easier to clean than the later parts, so under the current circumstances there is no reason why we should need to move back.

"There's no one alive that can stop Washizu-Sama! Not even if that someone is a demon incarnate!!"

So, while most of this chapter was Yoshioka and the rest of the White Suits praising their Washizu-Sama as the new messiah, Washizu and Akagi each get two draws over the chapter, counting Washizu's 14th tile that he drew for his starting hand as one of those draws. And even in just those two draws, the momentum of the round is clearly shown to support Washizu; he goes from 3 Shan Ten to 1 Shan Ten for Kokushi Musou in those two draws, while Akagi's hand does not move from its starting state of 5 Shan Ten. They are truly worlds apart right now; it seems as though, if everything remains as-is, Washizu will easily complete his hand first, possibly even through a Tsumo, and continue  his dealer turn with another Honba if nothing else.

As I mentioned, the better part of this chapter is taken up by Yoshioka and allies singing praises of God's chosen one, Washizu Iwao. Nobody else on earth could have done what he did in the round with the Double Yakuman, and if the end of the chapter is any indication, Washizu's pre-session negotiations were awe-inspiring, as well! Washizu-Sama has already won, so there is no need to worry any more for them. All that's left is to finish off the session and seize his reward in Blood!

Akagi Chapters 71 & 72

And to finish off the volume in style, we give you a double release of both Akagi 71 and 72! In these chapters, Washizu Mahjong gets well underway, blazing through the first few rounds to describe some of the common strategies to use in the ruleset! Thanks as always to Doc and Kazuhiko for their stupendous work.

Mahjong Day will be Saturday at 22:00 GMT, 2:00 PM PST, on the IRC. and

"Well, you'll figure it out soon enough. And don't blame me when you do."

  • About 5 lines that weren't read verbatim in the anime.
Yeah, not much is new in this one. The quote that I picked from this chapter (above) really stumped me; I don't really know what Akagi was referring to there. I guess maybe that he's just acting like he's going to play defensive the whole game, while in reality that's just to make Washizu let his guard down? I really have no idea, but I'm sure it's foreshadowing to some event that I can't put my finger on, it just has that feeling.

Akagi Chapter 70

Boom! Another day, another Akagi! At this rate, we'll be back to volume 19 in no time. In this chapter, we begin the first Hanchan of Akagi vs. Washizu!

Thanks to Doc for cleaning this chapter, and to Kazuhiko for typesetting it. Mahjong Day will be this Saturday at 22:00 GMT, 2:00 PM PST, on the IRC.

"If you keep playing like that, you'll be dead in no time!"

  • Ohgi reiterates that Akagi can die from just dealing into Washizu's hands, or his Tsumos.
  • Ohgi initially considers that, in terms of probability, the 1-4 Man wait is probably not what Washizu has.

Akagi Chapter 69

Yeah, teehee, 69, whatever. The important thing is that Kazuhiko is back and has finished the next chapter of Akagi for us, putting us only 3 chapters away from the end of the volume! In this chapter, Washizu bets his entire fortune, and Ohgi makes a tremendous wager...!

Thanks to Doc for the excellent cleans, and to Kazuhiko for typesetting this "Monster", as he put it. Mahjong Day went quite well yesterday, but I've implemented a new client for the Blog IRC page in hope that fewer people will disconnect with it. There's ads, but I believe it is more reliable.

Oh, and I guess I'll start posting links to the download in these blog posts, should make it a bit easier to find them.

"Bet one of your arms on this match, Ohgi!!"

  • Ohgi draws the correct conclusion that Washizu has all 500 Million in his manor based on how he is preparing to leave in a few days.
  • Washizu seems to be less thrilled about Ohgi's wager than he did in the Anime.

Rude 39 Chapter 6

Nobody expects Rude 39! Yeah, I've been informed that Kaiji and Akagi are both in the works, and I have been doing next to nothing for a week or so, so I figured I'd put my time to good use and do Chapter 6 of Rude 39 by myself. And this time, it seems like we're starting an actual story arc...! So yeah, in a rare twist, I am the Translator, Cleaner, and Typesetter for this chapter, just like old times. Hopefully I haven't gotten rusty.

Mahjong Day will be 2 Hours from the posting of this message on the IRC, so don't forget it!

"Ahhhh, I want to lose! Even just one more time would be fine!!"

Well, well, well, it seems like we're going to sidetrack from the usual formula of Katagiri owning at Pachinko, and switch to this story arc about Prep School students who need Katagiri to coach them at Pachinko! I've read ahead, and it seems like this story arc is going to fill out the rest of the volume, from chapter 6 all the way up to chapter 11. I suppose the episodic formula we had going was getting a bit old, so it should be interesting to see where this path takes us.

Kazuya-Hen Chapter 10

Woohoo! It's chapter 10! And it's also the end of this volume. But does that mean it's the end of Kayuza's book? Stick around to find out!

Thanks to the dudes are FKMTkrazy for their efforts in putting this together. Js06 for his translating skills, Biggums for his cleans, and Sonickrazy, back to do his proofreading!

Note from Sonickrazy: Probably won't get another chance to say this until Saturday, so I'll just remind you guys now that Mahjong Day is this Saturday at 22:00 GMT (2:00 PM PST) on Don't forget it!

So Arisa gets to use both her final swords simultaneously. And what's the result? One sword doesn't make it though, but that's bad now. But the other...hits flesh. That would be quite painful. I haven't seen such demented art from Fukumoto in a long time. It's really quite digusting how happy Arisa is at this though. Shouting for him to die repeatedly before the swords are stabbed, and being extremely elated when she realizes she got him. But wait, there's a catch! A simple sword though the chest won't kill a man that easily! It's takes a bit of time, and as long as that man, Tatsuya, can speak, he can gamble. If he were truly in love with Arisa, as the Boss says, he would realize that taking the last sword himself would save the one he loves!

Too bad Arisa couldn't keep her mouth shut.

Kazuya-Hen Chapter 9

So hey guys. Sorry for the extended break in updates for Kazuya-Hen. My break ended and then college got real but I'm back. Better late than never, right? Thanks to Js06 for the script and Biggums for the cleans for keeping up the good work while I was unavailable.

She's a real beauty.

So when we last left off, Kaiji, who is as you remember is the main character, was still reading. Intense, I know. In the book, Arisa has realized that Tatsuya will no longer protect her. In fact, it's kind of the opposite: he is willing to sacrifice her for his survival. Luckily for Arisa, she has everything figured out. There is a reason for the number of holes and number of swords there are. If you kill the other right from the start, then that's seven free slots. With the two in your own leg, you are pretty much guaranteed survival. With this is mind, she wants to use her last two swords to try to finish Tatsuya off before he finishes her off. The boss it pretty pleased with her revelation, but he insists on staying neutral.

Until he doesn't, and allows her to go forward with her request anyways.

FKMTkrazy Internet Relay Chat

I was planning on saving this until we released a new chapter because it's just a quick little announcement, but it seems that both of our typesetters are taking a leave of absence for a while, so I guess I'll post it now.

I've been playing mahjong over at Osamuko for a while, and after seeing the benefits that their IRC carries and why it's different from a regular chatbox, I decided to make a very basic IRC for FKMTkrazy where you guys can chat it up about fkmt and whatnot. Just get an IRC client, like Colloquy for Macs or mIRC for PCs, and add a connection to:

And then enter this room by typing it in when prompted:

And boom, you're connected!

EDIT: Alternatively, you can go to the top of the page and click on "IRC (#fkmtkrazy)" and be taken to a separate page where you can find a chatbox that will allow you to connect with the channel without downloading a client by entering your nickname and pressing ok. See you all there!

Akagi Chapter 68

Finally some new content... Kazuhiko was really busy with school and I have the terrible excuse of having been addicted to Disgaea 4 for the past week and a half. But we should be getting back to the grind here very soon, I have all of Akagi Volume 8 translated, so now it's a matter of Kazuhiko balancing his schedule enough to work on some chapters. Thanks to him for doing just that this chapter, and to Doc for having cleaned the chapter in the distant past.

Also, WE WILL MOST DEFINITELY, INEXCUSABLY BE HAVING A MAHJONG NIGHT TOMORROW AT 22:00 GMT, so please be there so we can start it back up again!

"If we don't set that 20 Million to be equal to 20,000 points . . . I won't be able to kill you!"

  • Instead of there being a high-tech pumping machine to extract Akagi's blood, the manga features a low-tech version where a stopper is removed, forcing the blood to extract to fill up the empty space.
Yeah, still not anything major that's new in the manga, though I do find it somewhat interesting how they somewhat upped the level of technology in the Anime from the manga. There's the simple device that's shown here, which wouldn't cost that much money to obtain, as well as the fact that a simple wooden stand is used to hold the Dora, in place of a slit that opens up in the table. Oh, and the points are held in a normal tray on a table next to each of the players here, as opposed to there being a drawer in the side that opens up to deposit points in. I suppose that big, automatic devices do give it more of a Saw-like feel, and make it feel more orchestrated, but I think it makes sense that Washizu wouldn't want to draw too much attention by buying a bunch of new equipment apart from the self-shuffling table.

All right, it's spoiler time again, so if you haven't read Akagi Volume 14, please do not read on or click the "read more" button, as I will be talking about something that happens then. Thank you.
