Mahjong Day Kraziness

Okay. I've noticed that the attendance rate for Mahjong Days has dropped down sharply in the past weeks. So, to hopefully remedy that situation slightly, here's some of the crazy stuff that goes on at Mahjong Day! Which will mostly consist of screenshots. Mahjong day is every Saturday at 23:00 or 00:00 GMT! Come and join us sometime!

First, we have an incredible 24-Han Yakuman from Noname, who has shown up to every Mahjong Day since it started:

Bear in mind, you only need 13 Han to make a counted Yakuman. So essentially, Noname got nearly two times what you need to make a Yakuman!! Talk about overkill! And it didn't help that all the new Dora were from his San Kan Tsu, which is rare enough by itself! Some day, I'll get a Yakuman myself and join the ranks of Noname and Kazuhiko in the Yakuman club. Great job!

Second, we have a game that starts off normally enough. Everyone is around the starting range, certainly not in any rational danger of going below zero.

We join our focus for the match, Kazuhiko, who has a relatively unassuming starting hand. It can get Fanpai by calling on the Hatsu, and looks to be pretty fast. Suddenly, though, Skutieos across from him makes a third-turn Riichi and the game heats up tremendously. I call Pon on the Haku, Biggums calls on what appears to be a Hon Itsu hand, and suddenly everyone can run away with a quick win. Without a moment of hesitation, Kazuhiko makes call after call to try and keep up, and after what seems like ages of tension and anticipation, he arrives at Tenpai! It is a 5-pin and 8-pin double wait, just what he needs to keep the others from running away with the flow. The 2-pin looks safe enough, so he plays it quickly to set his tenpai in place, when...

...disaster strikes. Skutieos and I lay down our hands, in a devistating two-sided attack! My hand is a simple Tanyao, aimed at seizing the flow of the game and nothing else. That by itself would be fine, perhaps worth joking about at the rarity of a double ron. But no. That's not all. Skutieos turns over his hand, and...

...A baiman. Not only do we have a Double Ron, second only to Atama Hane (head bump) in coolness, but we have Kazuhiko, who was in a good position at 3rd place, be brought below zero primarily by the person in last place, who is then bumped up to first. In other words, a devistating comeback, coincidentally with the very same tile that did Urabe over in his arc of Akagi. Truly a fantastic display of skill and chance.

But there is one thing more crazy than the Double Ron. And that is... the triple Ron.

Kazuhiko just can't catch a break, can he?
Oh, and due to the magic of Xat, we also do Fanart. Not very good fanart, just fanart. Of cackling FKMT villains.

IF THAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU WANT TO JOIN US, WHAT WILL!!!

    1. Thanks for asking! Go to http://xat.com/FKMTkrazy at the time it starts and we'll divvy out rooms based on who shows up there. We usually play on Tenhou, in Lobby 7448, but it makes things so much easier if you log into the chatbox first. Hope to see you there!

  6. Question: if NoName had gotten 26 han would that count as double yakuman?

    1. That would seem to make sense, but no, that would still only be a single yakuman. Yakuman multipliers can only be formed by combining Yakuman-Level Yaku.
