"That doesn't make me feel better at all!"

More interesting information about the end game for One Poker here. So it looks like Kazuya always plays the last hand alone, only him and the opponent. No witnesses from his suits, or from anyone else. I find this to be very interesting. I can understand how Kazuya would like this moment all to himself, but something feels odd about it. Kazuya said he likes to see the expression on people's face when they are making the final decision on when to press the button; part of his sadistic pleasure he went on about. How does he get to see this expression? Is he released from the seat belt when the final player has been declared a loser?
Even then, how does Kazuya get to see the expression from an upside down player with his back to the wall? It feels off to me. Like there's another reason for everyone else leaving. A reason like not wanting to subject his goons to suspicion of a murder case or he's concerned about their mental state from seeing someone fall, that sounds like bullshit. Murder case I don't believe because they took care of it with Kaiji signing off the work related injury paper. He's got no reason to fear something like that. As for him being wary of exposing his goons to any type of mental stress... He said it himself. They'll be collecting Kaiji's shattered and broken body off the floor later. I'm pretty sure that's damn traumatic on its own. Not to include all the other stuff we have seen mentioned that Kazuya has done to other people, including the body roulette wheel. Or he could go the route of saying he just doesn't want to share this wonderful moment with anyone but himself in this regard like he mentions later.

Also, Kazuya's mention of him running good when it matters. For those of you who don't know what a run is, it's a series of good cards or wins in succession, one after the other. Which we saw here with Kaiji. Apparently this isn't an isolated case, Kazuya is somewhat consistent with his runs, which is peculiar to say the least.

  1. Thanks for the upload! Much appreciated

The way Kazuya reacted was odd in the end panel. I hope Kaiji is paying close attention to the way kazuya is acting, it could give him a clue in the end.

I also really hate to be "that guy" and I know it's a dick move, but is there any word on when we'll get another Akagi chapter?

  3. Excellent as always, it's killing me waiting to find out what will happen haha. Also on how Kaiji may possibly 'cheat' his way to victory as with every other game.

  4. The game didn't develop but it's nice to see Kaiji's companions standing up for him after 2 whole parts basically on his own. Keep up the great work guys.

    1. Translation is not what is slowing us down, it's the cleaning and typesetting that takes the most time. I can get through a chapter in an hour or two. Thanks for the offer, though!

    2. Can you explain cleaning aand typesetting please? Is it something anyone can do?

    3. Cleaning involves making sure each page is well balanced between black and white, all japanese text minus sound effect are removed from the page. While this in itself can be somewhat easy, the hard part comes from floating text over background and near characters. You must erase the text from the background and redraw the area so that it looks like text was never there to begin with. Also joining and redrawing double pages. There is mostly always a gap in double pages that needs to be redrawn, so that can get a little tricky.

Typesetting is just adding the text back into the pages. While this can usually be pretty easy, you have to know what kinds of fonts look good during certain situations and how to balance them in and out of bubbles. You can also add effects to the text for big impact scenes, but that's more me showing off than necessary. I'd say it's easier to typeset than to clean. But if you have a little bit of an art background it'd be easier to clean.

I've made it sound harder than it is, but if you're up for it, we have a FKMTkrazy test that's available to anyone if they'd like to take it.

  8. Yes please, anyone who's interested join our ranks so we can output more chapters a week. I'd certainly be willing to impart any tips/advice on cleaning or just send me the redraws you don't know how to do.
