 "That raise will backfire!"

Well damn. Damn Damn. I didn't see that coming at all. Kaiji lost at One Poker. He seemed pretty convinced he'd win this one, til Kazuya poisoned the well with his words. He also got a good card. but not just any good card, the best card. A card that can kill even a King. An Emperor. A Supreme Master! AN ACE MAKES YOU A GOD!!!!!!!

Kazuya strikes Kaiji down mercilessly. Win after win. A relentless barrage of unending luck. Not just any luck. It is a luck that drains away the very soul of any who are close. Kaiji is dealt hellish DOWN cards time and time again. Kaiji felt he was at the peak of the mountain he calls luck. But this single card brought crashing back to earth.

Mother Sophie declares Kazuya the winner and that Kaiji has busted out as well as saying One Poker is over. This makes it official that Kaiji's 2 lives have passed to Kazuya and the game has officially ended. Thus ends One Poker and any chance Kaiji had.

  1. Well, that escalated quickly. If I had to guess how the game will continue, Kaiji is even more convinced he'd win the second hand with his other king and puts his own life on the line (setting a precedent which will later involve the two of his companions).

    Thanks for the double translation!

  4. Has anyone been keeping count? because it feels like Kazuya got all 4 aces in the game, and that's just not normal.

    1. they shuffled a lot of decks together and than cut it out in half so we just don't know how many aces are there

    2. He's had 3 aces, 2 from the pocket aces at the start and 1 just now. There were 3 decks shuffled together so there's at most 12 aces in play. BTW, Kaiji's also had 3 Kings so far

If I had to guess, I'd say one of the companions is going to die, but who knows?

  11. I wait the next chapter, Kaiji probably bets his live (or body parts?) to win lives, or maybe he could try another game related to poker, I don't know
