One Poker Hen 131

This week's Kaiji may shock and astound you. Or it may not. It may or may not depend on if you can see the future. Or not...

Thanks to Sonickrazy for the translations and to Crump Biggums for the cleans!

"It doesn't feel... like I can get anything good right now!"

A King! It takes the glorious and fated King to erase the darkness within Kaiji's heart. He quickly grasps this card, this gem, this treasure that has fallen into his lap. Just when he needed it most, it comes to his aid like a glorious cavalry! This is the perfect card to strike down his losing streak. But is this really the right time to use it? It also begs the question... What card did Kazuya get?

As a side note, it's been a long time since I've seen Fukumoto draw horses. This reminds me of a series we have yet to release, Burai na Kaze Tetsu. In it, he draws horses that are very funny looking. They remind me of horses with anime people expressions. The horses he draws here are very well done. It just shows how much his art has evolved over the years.

    1. It's more simple and fast paced that's for sure. Not as much screaming. More mind games.

    1. Pretty damn far ahead, the series will go on and on and...

    2. Kaiji Chapter 230 is out in Japan, so about 99 more chapters until we're all caught up

  6. Soo it goes up to 12 and we're only at 4? God damn. Also it seems they're still playing back and forth One Poker for majority of that.

Also judging by the ratings it gets worse?

  7. Thanks for the translation!

And yeah, it'd be nice if someone could translate a few of the ratings on the Amazon link posted in this comment section. I don't know a lot of Japanese but seems like a lot of people are complaining about the pacing or something along those lines. I doubt that the complaints mean much though since they've been consistently low for the later volumes and Kaiji would have certainly been cancelled by then. I mean, surely a drop in quality would entail less people buying it, no...?

  8. Kazuya have up card but is something like a 9 or 10, he go to bluff with his King and force a draw or make Kaiji fold but, Kaiji can't do that anymore and try with King.

Even with all he luck I don't see Kazuya getting another Ace(there's 4 Aces on that deck right? Two of them are out).

A just asking on One-Poker there's draw right?

    1. Yeah, if the two cards have the same value it's a tie.
