One Poker-hen 108

Hello Poker fans! I'm so ready for this chapter! Are you?

Thanks to Sonickrazy for the translations and to Crump Biggums for the cleans.

One Poker-hen 108

"The flow of my luck is in my favor!"

Well holy SHIT! Kaiji flops two shit cards, while Kazuya flops some nice ones. At first glance it seems that Kaiji is totally out of luck. He's lost all of his money since Kazuya's two cards will definitely beat Kaiji card. Well with the exception of the Ace vs 2. I highly doubt that will happen right off the bat though. So Kaiji is at his absolute lowest right now.

One thing to remember in One Poker, is that after a card is used, it's released to Mother Sophie and she deals a new card. So, Kaiji will almost 100% lose this first match up. but after that he will be dealt a new card. To me, all his hopes and dreams are contained in this new card he will be receiving. If it's not an UP card, he will lose. Quite a tough break for a guy who's luck has transcended heaven eh?

  2. Clearly he is not betting enough. Lady Luck will never sit beside someone who only offers her the absolute minimum

    1. HONESTLY the only reason Kaiji would need 2 billion dollars.
The only Reason Kaiji would any amount of money beyond 400 Million Yen is if he was Serious about "One day getting revenge" as he swore at the very very very end of season one of the anime but I have never read season one of the manga but at no other part has ever made any reff that his vow of revenge was canon, even now his desire to continue and get more money is Because the tide of his luck had shifted and The Flow was finally on his side. Legit son of the guy and he hasn't even thought about his father or revenge once. 400 Million Yen is "Quite Litterally" double what he could spend in a life time. Go, buy a house, buy a wife, live comfortably, go to school. . .

Ahhh who are we kidding he is the main character of an extreme gambling manga.

He could no more walk away than Akagi could put the tiles down.

      GOD HOW I LOVE IT!!

  4. It's funny, because the last few chapters could have been filled with more details about the game, instead of starting with it only half-explained.

And yes, I think there's a very good reason why Kazuya would feel dejection from two particular UP cards.

    1. He's thinking it, but he hasn't actually said anything. So he's still following the rules.

    1. That is the most logical assumption.

Which is interesting because it is the least logical thing imaginable.

  7. Kaiji: Kazuya can't hide what he's feeling.

    You're one to talk, Kaiji.
