One Poker-hen 99

One Poker continues. Let's see if we can learn a little more about this holy machine.

Thanks to Sonickrazy for the translations and to Crump Biggums for the cleans.

One Poker-hen 99
"Gambling in a place like this is just ridiculous!"

Not too much happening here in this chapter. Remember that at the time in japan, Kaiji went on a long hiatus and just came back after a year and a half. So there will be a bit of 'catching up' he will do. Most of what we hear is Chang telling Kaiji that this is reckless considering how this entire building could be one big set-up to cheat anyone who walks in. Kaiji reassures Chang that isn't possible, considering how Kazuya has been fair up 'til now.
Kazuya can't truly glean Kaiji's true self unless it's a fair battle. A point to bring up is that Kazuya said that once someone's money runs out they lose. Kaiji has 400 million, we know that much. But Kazuya... If he's putting himself on the line he will surely bring out everything he has to bet to ensure his life. How many tens of billions of yen does he have to protect himself behind. And how fair would that be for Kaiji?

  1. I just noticed that the machine appears to have blood stains or something. I'm not sure if Kazuya's fashion sense is so bad that he went to decorate the machine, or the game is actually so brutal that people have already lost their lives right there. Either way, I'm looking forward to it!

  2. I don't think that's blood, just Kazuya's tacky choice of decoration. I mean, you can tell from his clothes. By the way, anyone else expecting him to cheat on the last minute against Kaiji but lose anyway?
Thanks a lot for this chapter!

  3. I mostly agree about Kazuya but he doesn't really have clean record after he tampered with the machine in the savior game

    1. He only did so because Mitsuyama cheated in the first place placing a chant in their heads when he shouldn't have been talking.

  4. Kazuya, what is with that name man? "Mother Sophie" is so damn lame, come on!
