Kazuya-hen 96

As Kazuya-hen winds down I find myself getting more and more pumped for seeing what's going to happen next. Let's get to it! It's time to switch gears!

Thanks to Sonickrazy for the translations and to Crump Biggums for the cleans.

Kazuya-hen 96

 "I'm switching gears!"

I'm quite surprised that Mitsuyama got away without even so much as a yell or a kick or him saying sorry, or just ANYTHING! It kinda felt like Fukumoto couldn't wait to end this arc too, and this was his way of pushing it out the door. I don't blame him. This arc was so repetitious and monotonous that I found myself wishing it to end prematurely. It didn't matter if it had a bad ending, I was just looking for a way out and to move on to KAIJI, the main character of the story! But I digress.

So Kaiji gives Chang and Mario get a little windfall from Kaiji at the end of the game. I'm assuming Kaiji gave them about 250,000 yen each. That would bring his total to exactly 400 million yen. 250k each seems a little high though, so I'll adjust the figure as soon as we hear how much money he has left.

As Kaiji steps into the car a cold shiver runs down his spine. He stops himself short of making another fatal mistake. Where he is going is a place that can only be a Den of Snakes. A Pit of Vipers. A Cobra's Nest! Truly, where Kaiji is headed is not a place that offers any kind of solitude. The entire building he is heading into could be jerry-rigged to favor Kazuya. Leaving not even a 1% chance for Kaiji. Even IF Kaiji were to win, that 1% could be snuffed out easily by silencing him. Who knows WHAT Kazuya has planned for him. If there some anchor that could keep him grounded, something to make him feel safe. Someone who he knows he could trust even a LITTLE bit, that would make going easier. But where could he find certain people for such a task. Who would do such a thi- AHHHHHH!

  1. Well if you liked this arc, you're absolutely gonna LOVE the next one if you don't already know what it is.
Yes, the implications of that are what they are.
    Thanks for the chapter, though.

    1. I love the fact that I have no idea what follows, all I've seen is the cover of kaiji with a little human figure. CAN'T WAIT

  2. It's always entertaining to read your reviews about the chapters. They fit really well with Kaiji. And thanks a lot for the chapter!

  3. Considering the pace of the arc, this ending does seem really sudden at first, but now that I think about it, it does work (FKMT didn't really focus on anything but Kazuya's view of Kaiji and in that regard the ending is perfectly complete), and by the looks of it the result of the Salvation Game is going to matter in the future (in the sense of Kaiji needing allies) so maybe we'll get extra closure in the next chapters.

Thanks again, the next arc looks to be a real thrill.

  4. I honestly really enjoyed this arc until you guys started to delay it nonstop for other manga, but that might just be me. One-three chapters every few months was awful for this arc.

  8. Guys i have bad news, everything seem to point out to Kaiji being dropped, you read the man, he didn't liked this arc, and for what the other bastards have been spamming lately, the next arc is no better, so prepare yourselves if we get half a year per chapter.

    1. That would probably be the greatest troll to ever happen. They finally wade through the shit that was this arc and emerge, just to drop it for something else.
