Kazuya-hen 81-82

We interrupt your regularly scheduled Akagi for this breaking Kazuya news report! A double release is in progress, let's go to our newscaster in the sky Tambur!

Thanks to Sonickrazy for the translations and Crump Biggums for the cleans.

As a convenient coincidence, Kaiji's popular Restricted Rock Paper Scissors game has officially been released on Steam today! We didn't plan this. Honest! Check it out! Restricted Rock Paper Scissors

"It's only a sprout right now... but it's growing!"

Looks like things are heating up in the Salvation game. Mitsuyama is picked as Savior. The best possible pick. But he seems to be struggling over his decision. Due to his screw up in the earlier part of the round, he's now conflicted in whether his so called "friends" will actually save him. He could walk away with 70 million, more than two times what he would get if he relinquished his turn and gave himself over to Chang and Mario. But that would leave the both of them a crushed mess and Mitsuyama with quite the killer conscience. In the end, Mitsuyama makes his decision! He releases his belt. He chooses not to let Mario and Chang anguish in uncertainty! He chooses life!

  2. From the looks of the chapter titles this seems to be the last volume of this gamble. Confirm or deny?

    1. My japanese ps2 died and apparently swapmagic doesn't work for ps1 games, so I have no idea. I super want to, but I don't know if or how I'll be able to

  9. So ~20 chapters left? As much as I want a 'good ending' I can't see this working out since we still need a reason or Kaiji to continue gambling which means Kazuya will need something of value (perhaps the lives of the losers) to lure Kaiji into another game. Unless Fukumoto draws this round out for another 20 chapters my money is on Chang betraying. Mario already had his faith tested recently so I doubt he would betray them now. Honestly though, I really thought Mistuyama would be the one who ended up betraying everyone. Did we even get his backstory?

    1. You do remember that Kaiji already agreed to gamble against Kazuya at the end of the third arc right?

    2. Oh wow it's been so long I completely forgot that! That means Kaiji is most likely going to have to have a one on one battle Kazuya ! I can't wait to see Kazuya under pressure again! If I am not mistaken this might possibly be he first true battle where lives are not on the line (pre human derby doesn't count) Wonder how Fukumoto is going to drag out the next ~20 chapters then XD Maybe Mitsuyama is going to have a super long backstory :D
