Akagi Chapter 251

Another chapter of Washizu Vs. The World hits the stands! In this chapter, Washizu's rebellion takes charge!!

Thanks to Crump for the cleans and to Tambur for the typesetting. I'll be streaming the first Usagi game this Sunday at 2:00 PM PST, and there will be a mahjong night this Saturday at 3:00 PM PST.

"The leader of the Oni is even dumber than the rest of them!"

I like how the Oni are so humanlike that Washizu can psychoanalyse their battle cries. Next time there's a spider or something that I have to stomp on and kill, I'm going to put on some boots and start stomping it while shouting CRUSH IT! CRUSH IT! CRUSH IT!!

But all that aside, I was really caught off guard that the humans all being scared and running away was just part of Washizu's plan to drag out the leader. This plan only worked because he knew what kind of person... er, what kind of oni the leader was. That he'd want to personally come and take out the leader of the rebellion. It's pretty smart when you think about it, certainly better than just all trying to get past the army of Oni and losing most of your men in attempt to make it to the leader. Now the question is, now that Washizu has him right where he wants him, what's he going to do?

  1. Oh look the new chapter of Akagi has zero comments on it

    1. Does that mean it's almost over in Japan, or is the live action going to make up an ending or end on a cliffhanger?

  2. 10 one hour episodes starting with Volume 8.

Fun fact Volume 8 Chapter One is titled Serpent and it contains the story of Akagi smoking a cigarette and fantasizing about what type of man his opponent Washizu is.

And since the anime already covered the first 7 volumes as well as the first 4 sessions of Washizu Mahjong it would make sense that this new series which is focusing Entirely on Washizu will include the 5th and 6th Han chans and thus be a complete story.

Though I do wonder if their will be a live action Washizu Hell Arc.

    1. How can there be a complete story if Akagi hasn't even been finished yet?

    2. Very very good question.

My answer is that I have No idea.

However it really doesn't make sense to make another Akagi series with another cliff hanger.

So that's my guess and I'm sticking to it

    3. Sure it does! To build hype for the finale in the manga. This has been building for almost 20 years! There is literally no fight anywhere in the world of international media that has lasted as long as this one. The finale is sure to be awesome.

  3. Tomorrow 9 a.m !
