Akagi Chapter 220

So Tambur gave you his Christmas present, now it's time for mine! Except Tambur also worked on this one. God, he's so motivated. But anyway yeah it's been forever since I did any translating, maybe I'll do some more here soon.

Thanks to Tambur for the typesetting, and to TA and Biggums for the cleans! I'll be streaming Tetsuya PS2 tomorrow at 2:00 PM PST (21:00 GMT), and Mahjong Night will be on the IRC the following day at 3:00 PM PST (22:00 GMT).

"Before he knew it, Akagi's hand was cloaked in darkness!"

So when we last left Washizu (which was like 2 months ago or something) he was cackling to himself, hoping that Akagi's draw was one of his two winning tiles! This time he admits that the 4-man would not give him any yaku so it would be useless, but the 1-man! If Akagi draws the 1-man... he'd also keep it, it would fit in with the 23 man in his hand. And that's exactly what he does with the 4-man he draws, playing 1-sou. We can't see all of Akagi's hand right now, but we know that he has a sequence of 234 man, a pair of 7 man, a 45 pin, and pairs of Hatsu and Xia, with a Haku. And now that he's broken up the 4-pin with his opaque draw, there's just 2 tiles we don't know. I imagine these two tiles will be very important in the coming chapters, but for now, he cannot be in Tenpai, so there's nothing to worry about for Washizu for the time being. More chapters coming soon!

  9. 48 more chapters to catch up. If Akagi comes out like once in three weeks in Japan, and Sonickrazy translates one chapter in two months, we will never catch up :(. On a positive note, Akagi seems to be over soon in Japan, there's no way Fukumoto can stretch it out any longer looking at the last chapter.

    Thanks for the release.

      Mind spoiling me?
      What happened?

    2. SPOILERS

Practically, it's the last possible game between Washizu and Akagi and there are only a few draws left.

    3. There hasn't even been a single draw in the last round yet. Considering it took 5 months just to draw the opening hands, FKMT can draw things out for as long as he wants.

    4. Yeah, but they're both in tenpai and light is coming out of the mahjong table and you know when light is coming out shit is about to get real.
