Akagi Chapter 219

Yeah, I've been kinda busy with work (and maybe a bit distracted by my new shiny Wii U) lately and haven't been translating very much. But here's the next chapter of Akagi, in which very little happens! Thanks to TA and Biggums for the cleans and to Tambur for the typesetting!

I will not be streaming this Friday, it's Halloween. Mahjong Night is this Saturday at 23:00 GMT (3:00 PM PDT) as usual.

"He has to forge ahead! He can't go anywhere but forward!!"

Yeah, all that happens in this chapter is Washizu realizes that by having Suzuki play the 1-Man he can set a trap for Akagi. We all know that Akagi won't fall for this kind of trap, but it is kind of nice to see Washizu happy for a little bit. This is one of those chapters that I don't feel needs much commentary since it went into such depth within the chapter. Yep.

  1. the suspense is almost too much! Akagi definitely wont go for something so lazy though

  2. I'm gonna say Akagi got to tenpai, since I see a few more Manzu tiles below the one he drew, and Washizu is going to deal into his hand by accident because he's too concerned with his own hand or something. Still, can't wait for the next chapter.

  3. Thought you might be amused, if you haven't seen this already. FKMT drew a tribute illustration for Golgo 13's 45th anniversary last year. Some thumbnails are floating on the web, but I scanned the physical pages.

  4. No, stupid Washizu, that tile is opaque, Suzuki already has the opaque 1m.

  5. I don't understand why Washizu is so happy. Maybe he still hasn't realized the situation he's in, but Akagi's hand has a ton of opaque tiles, plus pairs of two fanpai (Xia, Hatsu).

Supposing that Akagi's draw is something like the opaque 4m, he can deal 1s, call pon on Yasuoka's Xia (and Hatsu, if he has one), and deal 4-5p for a 1shanten to a Honitsu.

That's mangan, Washizu, and with that many opaque tiles, it's bad news (is he in tenpai yet? and what's he waiting on?)
