It's only a flesh wound!
Tatsuya doesn't seem so determined at being a knight in shining armor this time around. He pleads with Arisa, asking her to not stab him. Obviously, that doesn't work. However, Tatsuya survives. But what's Arisa's excuse to not be stabbed? "I could never wear a swimsuit again!" Well, it is a reason, but I'm not even sure if one would be able to walk after being stabbed in the leg. Tatsuya doesn't really care though. A sword through her leg! A cry of pain. At this point, Arisa doesn't hesitate to stab Tatsuya in the body again, but he survives yet again. Tatsuya chooses Arisa's second leg and it goes through. No swimsuit modeling in Arisa's future it seems. Interestingly, the narrator (pretty much Kazuya thoughts) isn't being very impartial. Calling Arisa a "bitch" and "annoying" you can tell what his opinion on these actions are.
But things are looking up for them! There are only three swords left and eight holes, six of which have metal plate protectors. I'm sure you guys could do the math but I did it for you guys. 75% (6/8) chance of hitting a metal plate on the 3rd-to-last sword, 71.4% (5/7) chance on the second-to-last sword, and 66% (4/6) on the last sword. Together the chance that all three swords hit metal plates is...35.3%. It's surprisingly low, isn't it? A two-third chance that one of them will be stabbed by the end of this, and that one stab...is probably fatal.
So who's gonna carry that weight?

Awesome, and I had just asked about this on the old thread. I was expecting them to fight so much earlier, but it seems the next chapter is murder time.
ReplyDeleteim with him since she decided to ruin my theory and stop going for the legs... i'm still betting on "horror end" since the guy doesn't seem to go for the sacrifice gentleman way, both of them make it and have to live awkwardly knowing they tried to kill each other, holding grudge on their hearts!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Kazuya's narration broke the fourth wall? And Arisa noticed it? Nice little touch of surrealism. Though to be fair, that happened in Kurosawa as well.
ReplyDeleteWhere was the 4th wall broken, what are you talking about?
DeleteOnly now did I realize that Agisa was reacting to getting stabbed in the leg and not to Kazuya's narration asking who the hell would protect her (page 12), hurr.
DeleteI think the guy has a point that she ought to start taking some of the damage. If the girl was a better person, I think they would be able to get out of this without lasting damage on their relationship, even if part of their motives were selfish for survival.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately for him, the girl is downright cruel. The moment I read "swimsuit", that girl showed her true colors. This is freaking life-and-death, not beauty.
Do you guys at FKMTkrazy have any use for chapter transcription? As I'm reading ahead I usually end up having a script of the whole chapter because I don't know lots of kanji so I have to find them via radicals and put them in online dictionaries.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Quite a sick story, explains the mind of Kazuya a little bit too. Wonder what happens next...
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping up the strong pace guys!!
From the momentum the game has, I'm assuming all of the metal plates are on the guy side. Also, as someone else suggested before: in the best awkward end scenario, they survive but can't stay together because they tried to kill each other.
ReplyDeleteAbit of topic i know but how do one go about joining these mahjong nights?

DeleteIf you're familiar with the tenhou.net client and yaku (you're not wondering why you can't tsumo or ron), that's all you need. And I'm sure one of us can help you get on track if you're having a problem.
This confused me a bit. What happens if someone dies? Will the second person just choose for them? Also, what would happen if someone passes out from blood-loss or something? If it plays out like I think it will, it seems extremely unfair if the second person gets to choose twice!
