DKaiji Chapters 90 & 91 & 92

Wait did I write that right? Is that three chapters of DKaiji? A...TRIPLE RELEASE?! Yep, that's right. We here at FKMTkrazy don't screw around when it comes to DKaiji. We love that manga. A big thanks to all who showed up yesterday for Mahjong Day! It was awesome seeing a bunch of new people there! Believe me, DKaiji is that much better is you know the mechanics of the game, so don't be afraid to show up and play!

Of course, all this can't be possible without the hard work of all those involved. Js06 for his fast translations, Biggums for his ahead-of-schedule cleans, and Sonickrazy for his prompt proofreading.

Note from Sonickrazy: Nobody cares, but Mahjongkrazy released another chapter of Death Pie. You can check it out in the "Mahjongkrazy Branch" link on the top of the page.

Kaiji probably would of face-palmed if his nose allowed it.

So, what happened in this chapter? Well basically Kaiji gets shocked that Miyoshi and Maeda actually think that he betrayed him. But Kaiji puts it best when he says "it's like a lame excuse!" Because that's what it really is. Both Miyoshi and Maeda are so poor even the thought of Kaiji holding money from them is enough to get them riled up. So riled up, in fact, that it doesn't take much convincing from Muraoka to get them on his side. Also, notice that all the people on Muraoka's side start with an M? And Kaiji and Kazuya, who aren't quite in an alliance, but in a non-malevolent relationship, both start with a K. The three Ms versus the twos Ks. Quite the battle.

And of course, all Kazuya is doing at this point to further their relationship is laugh at Kaiji and his former friends arguing with each other. It seems he quite enjoys seeing people and their relationships being torn apart. This does give insight into what kind of person Kazuya is, and it's clear that he enjoys watching people suffer. Not sure if that's going to go well with Kaiji, he's not an M after all!

No one likes Miyoshi and Maeda because they're dumb.

You gotta hand it to Muraoka. He may be a manipulative bastard, but he is definitely smart. Much smarter than Miyoshi and Maeda at least, but that's not something be proud of, it's something to be grateful for. The only problem is that's he's way to arrogant. It's the only reason why Kaiji hasn't died by now, because he thinks his petty plans can outsmart Kaiji. But now that Kaiji has survived all his plans for so long, and finally took down his greatest advantage, he's has nothing left to rely on. He can only hope that one of Kaiji's tiles will overflow. Meanwhile, Kaiji hopes that Muraoka will be so pressured that he'll mentally crack. After all, Kaiji does have the advantage of having more experience thinking while being at the edge of destruction.

But as Kazuya knows, and we know, that plans don't always go the way they're supposed to...

Fastest game of Minefield Mahjong you'll ever see.

Damn, this game is going fast. I was expecting Fukumoto to make the initial discards last a couple chapters, but it turns out the first 13 tiles discards are over in one chapter! And while this is going on, we get a narration from none other than our beloved narrator! Minefield Mahjong is finally the real deal for once! Even though the first 13 steps go by like a flash, the last four steps mean everything! Does Kaiji actually have a hand together in his new hand? Or is Muraoka actually safe? And how will Kaiji, once again, deal with having to squeeze past the last four tiles?

Stay tuned...

    1. I need to double-check his tiles, but I'm not sure he has nothing. At the very least, we know he has 999. He was looking pretty intensely at his tiles. I'm of the opinion that he was looking for a way to make a new hand, and memorize it.

  13. We're seeing things from Muraoka's point of view now. That's how we know things are about to get serious.
