Akagi Chapter 159

And right after the double release of DKaiji, we have for you... a single release of Akagi! What fantastic timing! In this chapter, Washizu's Henchmen's concern reaches its peak...!

Thanks to Crump for the lightning-fast cleaning, and to Kazuhiko for the excellent typesetting. Mahjong day did not happen last time, but that doesn't mean it's gone for good! Let's try again this week, on Saturday at 22:00 GMT (3:00 PM PST).

"Here and now... accept this Dealer Double Yakuman!!"

Yoshioka has decided to take matters into his own hands by having Suzuki play the Pei, forcing Washizu to decide between either winning off the Pei or trusting 100% in his luck and that he will draw it on his next turn. This is certainly the most we've ever seen Yoshioka do, even if he can't actually force Suzuki to play the Pei. We know that Washizu can't get a Dealer Double Yakuman Tsumo because that would kill off Akagi, but Washizu himself does not know that, and in fact it may be the right thing to go on and ignore this Pei, if the Heavens are truly in his favor. Akagi cannot do anything to stop him from taking at least one more draw, so I believe that Yoshioka's decision is also partially to put his mind at ease regarding Washizu-Sama's decision. If Washizu is so confident that he will draw the Pei that he is willing to cast aside his ability to win off Suzuki's, then surely he will draw it. After all, Washizu-Sama knows his own limits better than anyone else, and has seen just how much the Heavens favor him time and time again. Will Suzuki go along with Yoshioka's advice, and if so, will Washizu trust in his God? Or will he see the win in front of him and get the maximum amount out of this hand, fearing it could all topple down? Find out next time!

  1. Oh man, I can see Washizu ignoring it and then raging because of it later. Amazing work guys!

  2. This is a livestream from my room as I woke up to check if the new chapter was out.

    1. That's priceless.

    2. HAH! It's funny becouse its true! : D

    3. ... well played

  3. I might be one of the only guys rooting for Washizu, but I really, really hope he takes it. I guess if I was an underling, I'd want Washizu to take one more draw, and if he doesn't win, see that as a clear sign of divine will and take Suzuki's Pei. You know, third session and all that.

  4. "I might be one of the only guys rooting for Washizu"

  5. Dude, I'm always rooting for Washizu. You've got to root for the underdog.
